  I lost my dad (unalived himself) when I was just two weeks shy of my 12th birthday. This was over 49 years ago, but I still feel the loss. I cannot blame it on anyone else as the two of you did. <br><br>It’s hard to live with this kind of loss!

  I was talking about 9/11 the other day with my therapist and because I was 14 and was a little more conscious about what was going on that day despite still being a kid and it shaped the way I process trauma now as an adult. I can truly say that this was the day I realized adults arent always able to keep their fear hidden from kids and they have very limited control over things and can&apos;t guarantee it&apos;s going to be alright. It was and still is a scary realization. &nbsp;<br><br>I lost my own Dad when I was approaching my mid thirties, you never stop being your parents&apos; kid no matter what age you are, but it hits so differently in different life stages. I dont know that there will ever be a situation where someone says they got enough time with their parent...I often feel guilty when people say I lost him while so young when theres people out there such as David and Katie who lost their Dad long before me...<br><br>Grief is simply hard work no matter how you look at it. You cant get around that aspect.

  I&apos;m an Australian, so with the time zone difference, I didn&apos;t actually know about 911 attack until the next morning. As a young mother at the time, I felt so much grief for the children that lost their mothers and fathers. I wondered how my children would have coped in that situation.<br><br>I am so sorry for your respective losses. This was a very open and honest interview and I thank you both very much for sharing your personal journies. Sending love and light.

  I think both of you and all the children who lost their parents on 11, who were young, lost their innocence. So sad my heart goes out to both of you and all the rest
