  I was working in Manhattan at a video production company around the time of 9/11 as a voice over engineer, and had been working w/ Michael recording a VO for Epicurious. Really friendly, upbeat, funny and cheerful guy. We were doing regular VOs for a time, and then I hadn’t seen him after 9/11 for a while. Finally, he came back in to do a voiceover weeks after (his demeanor had totally changed), and told me his account of the attack. I remember I could see the change in his face when he told me about it. So sad. And he lost so many of his staff. Such a nice guy. I don’t know if you remember me, Michael…but I sincerely hope you’re doing well these days. Every year around this time, I think of you.<br>🙏❤️ God bless…

  Such a lovely man. Been to Windows on the World many times , always our go to place to celebrate happy celebrations. Loved his restaurant Porterhouse too.

  I often wondered what happened to him. He was one of the earliest Chefs on TV cooking and teaching. I loved his cooking show. Thank you Kathy!

  My husband’s dear Mom habitually went to Windows on the World for lunch with her significant other. Thank God they were not there that fateful day. God Bless those that lost their loved ones in that horrific tragedy. Never Forgotten.

  Michael is one of the kindest, appreciative souls I have ever watched. His gentleness pours out of him. I&apos;m so sad that so many lives were lost that day but those who worked at Windows On The World sounded like a family. Breaks my heart... ❤

  Katie, this was one of the most moving, inspiring and emotional interviews you have done. I’m not a New Yorker although I enjoy coming and dining there. But I love this man’s heart and spirit… I love that Mr. Lomonaco trained his colleagues in preparing plates of food with love. And I love his heart and spirit and caring for those working in the Hospitality industry and all that he and his colleagues did to help support them and their children. Cannot wait to come back to the city and dine at his establishment. Chefs and anyone who prepares meals with love and cares like he does for his colleagues has my heart! &nbsp;Even though I’m a Texan, we will always remember that horrific day and every precious soul that was attacked during the tragedy of 9/11.

  Michael i just cant imagine the amount of grief and loss you have endured. I still could cry instantly thinking about that terribly tragic day. I still can&apos;t wrap my heard and heart around this immense loss. Even since that day we have lost more victims due to the toxic environment everyone was exposed to that day. God bless you for all you continue to do in the culinary world and all uou do to keep remembering everyone we lost on 9/11/01
