  The perm reveal is absolutely magnificent. I love the way Reese plays that, how her voice gets stronger and more confident because she KNOWS she’s right.

  What always kills me is that Elle had a 4.0 as a BUSINESS MAJOR and yet everyone assumed that it wasn't an academically valid bc it regards something 'feminine' like fashion. We love a movie that hammers home the point even with small plot points. (And she got a 179/180 in her LSAT.)

  I love this movie so much. I think it came out at a time when "girly girls" we're still being diminished and not taken seriously. Even though it's silly, Elle showed us that you can be feminine and love pink and frills AND be ambitious and hardworking and so smart. People sold her short because of her looks, and it's very easy to fall into that trap. But she's tenacious and funny and actually very kind and loyal. She's not a mean girl. She's a girl's girl and a feminist in her own right. This movie holds up and I love Reese Witherspoon in this role. Great movie!

  i love how everyone watching for the first time forgets that pink is elle’s colour that faded away so she could fit in, until she comes back to court in full pink!

  Especially as a woman something I love about this movie is if Elle simply stayed in her comfort zone then yah, in her pov Warren was the best she could do…. A rich, smart, Harvard law student with a reputable family. But because she pushed herself to grow in ways she never expected, by the end of the movie we see that in comparison to her, Warren really is a sleezy desperate guy who leeches off of anyone he can… meanwhile Elle is now the type of person who can attract a guy like Emmett who’s not only very successful but also kind, trusting, and loyal. Obviously the movie isn’t solely about “dating up” but it just shows that you really don’t know what the world has to offer until you reach for the stars.

  This is one of the greats. Legally blonde does so much that other female focused films of the time didnt do. Elle is bubbly, kind and fashionable, but she is also optimistic, driven and a hard worker. You cannot succeed without believing that you can succeed. The fact that elles purpose for going to law school changes partially through the movie when she has that realization at the party. shes so driven she didn&apos;t even stop at home to change instead she shows up at the store in her playboy costume ready to buy that computer. In order to succed you have to be willing to be laughed at.
