The first iron bridge IN THE WORLD, not just the UK. Designed by Thomas Pritchard and cast by Abraham Darby, began to be built in 1779 and opened in 1781 when the USA was just 5 years old.

Crumpets aren't the same as English muffins! They are spongy with lots of holes, and when you toast them and put butter on them, it melts and fills the holes. Very nice.

An 'English' (?) muffin (in the UK we just call them 'muffins'!), is NOTHING like a crumpet.. Why do so many Americans say this? Firstly, a MAJOR difference: a muffin is made with dough, while a crumpet is made with batter - Muffins use a firm, kneaded yeast dough, while crumpets use a loose, pourable baking-soda or yeast batter... which releases gas to make the famous 'holes'! Also, 'high tea' is NOT the same as 'afternoon tea'... A 'high tea' is a LOT MORE of a substantial meal, with meats, meat pies, stews, vegetables and similar 'hearty foods'.

I have seen so many videos of Americans bragging about having had two hours sleep on a flight across the Atlantic then they get in a car and tackle the unfamiliar roads on the wrong side of the road. I'm really not that impressed.
