  I would have cashed the AK of H, not led the JH. If the Q drops singleton or doubleton from E, you win four heart tricks. When E shows out on the second trick, you know East has all the rest of the HCP. Now lead the JH and West has to take his Q or lose it. Now the TH is good and the rest of the hand plays the same. Your 8C is another stopper, so don't pitch a club. Pitch the diamond and take the finesse against the known JK. Win the A, Cash the good spades and exit with the TD to East's K, and win the last club.

  Why not cash the spades and exit with a club. East has to let go a club and a diamond. Then throw East in with a club. East takes 3 more clubs then has to lead away from the K and J of diamonds into your combined A and Q of diamonds and you make it.

  Discard 2 of D on the 10 of H and lead a club from dummy... 9 easy tricks... After the 1st round of clubs, East has AQxx in clubs and South 8xx... 3rd round control!

  Actually. You can definitely make this contract. Do not discard the low club from the Declarer hand. The only higher cards than the 8 were the AQ. If you played one, East would be forced to win. If he played a diamond, he is endplayed into the 9th trick

  You fell out of love with the club ate too quickly. Save your little club and throw a little diamond. And you can end play East in diamonds to give you the 8 of clubs as your ninth trick.

  After two spades are discarded on the hearts, just play a diamond to the queen. &nbsp;East wins and cashes two clubs if they like. &nbsp;Then you make the rest, including the diamond finesse if necessary.<br><br>Alternatively, endplay East as other commenters have suggested.<br><br>I would also have played hearts from the top. &nbsp;A doubleton queen is about 21% (one third of the 4-2 breaks).

  I was taught the double shows 12 points, less than 3 cards in bid suit - Clubs and at least 3 in the unbid suits. After partner responds you should be happy to play in the suit she bids - Hearts, not change to No Trumps. You haven&apos;t followed the process ??

  After playing 10 of H. Why did you discard club. You should have discarded 2 of D<br> Play A and 10 of spades. E had to discard either one D or C. Play accordingly. If he discards club exit with club he has to lead from kJ of you will make both tricks if he discards D then play A D and exit with D. He can only make 2 clubs A and K your 8 of C is your 9th trick .
