What are the odds... I memorized the apostles' creed when I was a kid and about 12 years later on my full-time mission in Arizona, I memorized the living Christ. Quite a turn.

Hopping on to say how much I love this podcast. It's like sitting in Foundations of the Restoration with Dr. Griffiths all over again. I left BYU in 2019, but I'm so glad I get to continue learning from him. He is truly a captivating teacher. I'm enjoying getting to know Dr. Woodward as well. This podcast has strengthened me and helped me feel part of a community of educated, deep thinkers who believe in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you!

Brother Woodward, my wife Ashley Mortensen and I took your doctrine and covenants class fall 2014. We were newlyweds and only married-couple in the class . We were talking the other day how much we loved your class so much and wished we could take it again. So happy that you are sharing your knowledge and testimony on this podcast for all to hear! I feel like I’m in your class again! Thank you! Looking forward to more

When my dad was a young boy, they would have preaching on their farm in Indiana, in the 1935 - 1940 time range. One preacher in particular impressed him, and the man's dedication and prayers dad could hear through walls softened his heart. When he heard about the restored gospel his heart was prepared, and he was baptized in October 1946.
Thanks you two!

My daughter married a guy who was a Lutheran pastors son. Dad was a chaplain in the Air Force. When she asked him about the trinity, he said that a way to think about it was imagining water. It can take the form of water, ice, and vapor. All from the same materials but with different functions. She'd been raised in the church, and active through Seminary. So that explanation made no logical sense to her. I was interested in other religion's beliefs. So I found it interesting. My dad taught Gospel Docrine Sunday School for 30 years, but was always interested in finding out what other faith's believed. I'm glad I inherited that curiosity from him.He was the grandson of Charles Lowell Walker of St George who was tasked by Brigham Young to move there from SLC to start the Cotton Mission.

I love the extensive research that has gone in to Church History Matters. I love the format and this year will be the best of all. I have listened since the very first podcast. Your deep love of God, our Savior and all things pertaining to the restorationi is magical but then I am a history nerd so I applaud all that you bring to us.

Dr Griffiths, my son took two classes from you last semester and he loved them. I visited him and got to attend class with him once. It was the day you talked about seer stones and it was fantastic. Thanks to Scripture Central for the in depth "nerdy" look at our doctrine and the new knowledge I've already gotten for this year. ❤

I don't think the Lord or Heavenly Father "hate" that we can't connect....
I think they feel sad and understand our inability, and that's why He's merciful and gracious and keeps watching over us and continues to guide us.

Well done. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I love Church History and love hearing more of the contemporary accounts of church events. I love living in this time in history when even more is available to confirm that Joseph is a prophet and the amazing things he accomplished under great persecution. My testimony of him has never wavered.
