  This is essentially the 4 Classical Temperaments from ancient Greece re-imagined for modern audiences. red = choleric; yellow = sanguine, green = phlegmatic, and blue = melancholic. One&apos;s temperament is determined by reaction times and lengths: red (choleric) = fast, long-lasting reactions; yellow (sanguine) = fast but short lasting reactions; green (phlegmatic) = slow but short reactions; blue (melancholic) = slow and long lasting reactions. Just like there are many shades of colors, there are many variations of character within each temperament, so no two people are alike. All people can be happy and get along within their own temperament, and, over time, can work on their natural weaknesses. Temperament is your initial, most primal reaction to life, but this can be modified over time. Learning this has totally helped me to get along with others - and myself!

  My son worked on a drill ship where each person had their colors on their hard hat. The idea was that they needed to understand how others think because personality clashes onboard could lead to dangerous confrontations. I do not know how well it worked but people got sent home for getting in someone’s face.
