David Bowie’s set was next after Queen’s. It’s been famously reported that Bowie said “how the fuck am I supposed to follow that?” Freddie did a form of Aay O during every show. I personally witnessed and participated four times. And LOUD. My ears rang for two days after each show. Best concerts I ever attended.

Remeber watching this on TV in 1985 like it was yesterday. R.I.P. Freddie.

If you're gonna watch the queen live aid concert. Watch the whole twenty one minute concert in one sitting, it takes away from the experience watching each song individually.

Somebody once asked Freddie what instrument he played. He responded "I play the audience, darling".

Oh he was so wonderful. He was SOO sick that day, he said it was like gargling broken glass, dr told him not to go on, but of course he did. He does miss a few notes, but no one cared.

Freddie was absolutely a once in a generation kind of person, so many reactors say he had amazing crowd control because he didn’t need to instruct the audience and they just followed him but that’s not what I see from him , it was an actual connection with the crowd and him loving them and them loving him and him making them part of the show THAT was why he just can’t be topped. He had amazing talent and he was a beautiful soul.

At the time, Freddie was battling severe vocal strain from a previous throat infection and was advised by doctors not to perform, but he ignored this advice to deliver Queen's legendary 20-minute set. Amazing!

Freddy/Queen had the world in the palm of their hands whenever they stepped on stage.

You have to realize he was ill and doctor told him not to go on but he said I'm not missing this....you can hear it in a couple high notes

Your generation need to try to bring back what we had in the 70's and 80's.
