There's frontmen, and then there's Freddie. He was in a league of his own working those crowds.

This wasn't even a Queen gig, yet Freddie had 72,000 people in the palm of his hand!

Freddie had a bad throat (apparently he said it was like singing with broken glass in his throat)  and was told by a doctor not to perform.  However, Queen did perform and smashed it.  Each act was given 20 minutes and if they went over that they were cut off. Queen did the most songs and finished exactly on time.  Each member of Queen have written number 1 songs.

Brian wrote We Will Rock You & Freddie was inspired then to write Champions. Our great, great, great, great grandchildren will be listening to Queen.

This was years before he died. This performance kick started the best period for Queen.

Queen had just come off a world tour for "The Works" a month before Live Aid, where they played to 300,000 plus in Rio alone. I have been in those stadiums watching Queen, the best live band ever!!  Freddie was just voted the best singer/vocalist in rock history by Forbes 100 countdown.. Queen ruled. This performance was named the best performance in rock history..Freddies Ah Yo was called "the note heard around the world" by every news paper. This concert reached 1.9 Billion around the world.. Queen and Freddie just doing what they always do.. Legends!! Freddie would not be tested until 87, Queen went on "The Magic" tour in 86, that was fire.. Freddies last time on stage with Queen would be Aug, 86 Knebworth..Queen continued in the studio, and videos until we lost him in 91

Freddie is THE frontman of all frontmen. Nobody touches him. None are close
