Is Songwriting Worth It — Or Am I Delusional?

  My husband is such an amazing singer writer I wish he could get a hit song.. I worked hard and supported us financially while he was spending his money going to Nashville and recording his songs in a recording studio hiring great musicians.. my husband is 67 we were busy raising 4 kids and I really believe in his songs.. he writes so many songs he sings great and plays guitar, plus is multiple bands.

  Getting into the Songtown peer forums regularly has encouraged me and helped signal what a song needs before I go play it live. Not only is Songwriting worth it, but Songtown is worth it too. 💪

  Very interesting and makes sense. Road trips and just getting away helps me open up and write a lot! New scenery and sorting out things on my mind really opens the door for songwriting!

  This video really resonated.  Recently I've accepted that I just am a songwriter.  It's a hard thing to be but having heard your stories, you realize you're not alone in this.  Every time I tell someone I'm a songwriter or a musician they always say "Hey I know a guy that can get you a job at the airport, working baggage." lol,  not what I was hoping for which is "hey play me one of your songs."  It's  worth it though :) Thanks you guys rock,.

  Woke up this morning around 4am, saw the sunrise and wrote down some lines. Went back to bed. Got up at 10am, added more lines and emailed them to my cowriter. He wrote a melody and sent it back. By 4pm we had a demo. By 5pm he'd pitched it to Carrie Underwood! Stay tuned for more... 😁

  For a long term career, I think you have to enjoy the process more than the result. And the real test is when you get a result. If you've achieved your goal, it can be very easy to go, 'I've done it. I've made my point. I can stop now.' and never do it again! But if you enjoy the process, the result is almost irrelevant. You're more excited about writing the next thing.

  IDK what I would do without you guys... I've had to rebrand, re-write, and redo production this year... Got a meeting with a Christian artist development company in a couple weeks - fingers crossed!
