  worked a night shift at a hotel near the largest amish settlement. had an amish lady lose her horse and it was just running wild near the building, i almost thought it would enter the lobby. those horses are crazy, man.

  As someone who lives near Orwell, that first incident was hilarious to the rest of us too when it was originally in the news. The articles made sure to point out the horse knew the way home 😂

  The third case was weirdly wholesome up to the point where one of the charges was domestic abuse. So we basically just saw a woman agreeing to marrying her abuser. That is what in the business we like to call a big yikes.

  For the first story, as someone who lives in a part of America with a lot of Amish people (Pennsylvania) that kind of stuff doesn’t surprise you.<br><br>In parking lots around Lancaster County you’ll see horse posts and little stables for the horses, and I’ve even seen a horse and buggy at the gas pump at a gas station once. They were filling up gas canisters though, not filling up the buggy with gas. That would just be silly.
