<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0cdBtwoZOI&t=304">5:04</a><br>Funnily enough, the console version has Patrick meet Mindy prior to her introduction in the film to unlock an ability from her. When Patrick questions who she is, Mindy is like "you'll meet me later in the story," and Patrick is like "I guess that's okay then."

I think the game showing the moustaches as real hair up until Dennis represents how Spongebob and Patrick see the 'staches, since unlike in the movie, the player is playing as Spongebob.

In the console version, it’s shown that he DOES make Krabby patties, but never shown stealing the formula, but based on what’s shown, it’s pretty obvious he did.

I played both the GBA and console versions of this game as a kid, and one thing that always struck me about them back then, was that the GBA version had more bosses. The console version literally just had the Frog Fish, two battles against Dennis, and King Neptune. Whereas the GBA version had all of those bosses plus the "vehicle inspector", that guy in the Thug Tug, and an actual battle against the Cyclops. I always remember my child self innocently thinking <i>"Where are all those other guys?"</i> when I played the console version. Of course, I now know the reason was because both games had different developers, but I gotta say, I actually think it's a <i>small</i> thing the GBA version has over the console version, and it would have been interesting to see how these additional bosses would have translated over to a 3D plain. Although, they probably still wouldn't have been anything too special to be fair lol...

The Thug Tug Thug's design is actually an interesting case because it actually was the opposite of what you suggested. The prototype of the game used a design much closer to how he looked in the movie, with an eyepatch. For some reason he was edited to resemble his movie form less. That combined with the odd way Hasselhoff is portrayed and the realistic mustaches, and the first thug boss also being recolored from his movie form makes me strongly wonder what kind of restrictions they were under in regards to how much of the movie's designs could be used. IIRC in the console version they can't even say Hasselhoff's name. Maybe the licensing was more expensive the more character design/likeness was borrowed from the movie? Idk how any of that works, just throwing theories out there.

Okay but, 12 Angry Men as an Ace Attorney styled Visual Novel? That would go hard.

As a child, as someone who played the two first worlds of the game first and only watch the movie after, and with no other context, I honestly just saw "Whoever wears the crown rules the see" as some kind of near throwaway line of Plankton gloating about his plan being on motion. <br><br>I though "saving Bikini Bottom" meant that Neptune was so mad that he just turn a blind eye of Plankton taking over the city. Hence why the bucket ennemy in the second level.<br><br> And for he was the only guy powerful enough to defeat Plankton, Patrick and Bob had to retrive the crow to convince him.<br><br>Which kind of what actually happens in the movie, albeit Neptune is totally oblivious and not actively turning a blind eyed.

As someone who lived off of GBA/DS movie tie in games I can’t believe I didn’t know this game existed. Looks amazing

I'd really like to see you cover the console version of the game. There should be plenty of changes made that are worth talking about.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0cdBtwoZOI&t=180">3:00</a> Easy, simple first levels in platformers also serves another purpose, which is to give the player a low-stakes environment to learn the controls and how the character handles before throwing actual challenges at them. World 1-1 in original Super Mario Bros is a great example of a platformer tutorial level in several ways, and the simplicity of it is part of that role, in my opinion.
