  Some of the references make more sense when you read the book. She isn't randomly calling a plant "katniss", that really is one of the plants names (katniss and prim are named after plants). The hanging tree song is an old and forbidden song in Panem by the time of the 74th games, and Katniss learned the song from her father. Now we know who wrote it.

  "They say who murder three" in the hanging tree song actually means Arlo, the guy who was hung because he killed three people( 2 peacekeeper and a mine worker I think) Lucy gray wrote the song based on this incident. Imagine how snow felt, when this song became the anthem of the rebel decades later lol

  One of my favorite parts of the book is the internal thoughts about how much Snow hates mockingjays. And then Lucy Gray disappears, her fate left a mystery, via the mockingjays taunting him. Only for the mockingjay to end up being the symbol of the rebellion... chills

  Lucy Gray didn’t leave that snake under the scarf—she dropped it while fleeing and the snake crawled under. Snow’s paranoia and fury is on full display there.

  Lucy Grays direct references to Katniss, district twelve, hanging tree, mockingjays are there to show how Snow sees Lucy in Katniss. It helps make sense of why he hated Katniss from the start and yet was still scared of her because he knew what she could do..

  The reason the snows were broke in this, is the almost all of the snow family wealth was in district 13s weapon development, when it got bombed by the capital, all the snows wealth got destroyed with it

  It was a couple of things that triggered the tingling telling Lucy to run: when he said 3 people and tried to mend it up with "the third one was the old me, to come with you". The second was when he found the weapons and was too shocked. So she laid the conversation to the final stage: "you could go back. No lose ends, just me" and just the look in his eyes told her everything she needed to know. She was no fool.

  Yeah, it&apos;s the same Tigriss, who was Snow&apos;s cousin and, as you can see from movie, was really close to him and supporting <br>Seeing how much it changed makes my heart ache for her

  What you don’t know in the movie is that the song that Lucy Gray was singing when the snakes were in the arena was a funeral song they would sing in district 12. She thought she was going to die and sang her own funeral song

  Clemmie isn&apos;t down and out from the snake bite, btw. The movie didn&apos;t show it but she&apos;s patched up enough to resume mentoring when the Games began. Clementine bears the mannerisms of a serpent with a few reptilian physical traits. She terrifies Snow and refuses to send any resources to her tribute even when it could benefit her path to the prize. It doesn&apos;t matter in the long run but it would have been cool to see her make a reappearance with her new genetics.

  Rabies does indeed give you hydrophobia. It&apos;s a nasty infection.<br>The Flickerman we saw I believe was Caesar Flickerman&apos;s dad. This too place 64 years before Katniss&apos;s games.<br>Lot&apos;s of good callbacks in this one...Hanging Tree being a banned song, the attempted destruction of the Jabberjays...Snow&apos;s quote to Katniss &quot;it&apos;s the things you love the most...&quot; You can really see how the whole experience really stuck with him.<br>So cannot wait for the next movie :D
