Very very informative video.. I'm 100% convinced my tinnitus is stress/brain processing related because the last 3+ years have been incredibly stressful

I do whatever I need to do to get a few minutes of peace. The ringing sounds keep me from sleeping. I have to keep my brain busy, or drink until I pass out in order to sleep. I also have audio hallucinations. Sometimes I want to take sharpened pencils, and jam them through my eardrums.
Severe Tinnitus is a daily nightmare.

I have pulsatile tinnitus from a fistula in my left carotid artery. I have heard this constant heart beat sound, 24/7 for 10 years. Thankfully an interventional radiologist, Dr. Mathew Amans at UCSF did an angiogram and found the cause. I’m getting it repaired tomorrow and hopefully the sound will be gone forever.

ALL audiologist should be mandated to be trained in Tinnitus.

This video is a significantly better quality than the usual ones produced by audiologists and ENTs. Recognizing that tinnitus is a symptom with many possibly causations seems simple, yet most fail to recognize it.

I've been cursed with 2 types of Tinnitus. Pulsatile Tinnitus caused by listening to a 'humming' sound during meditation and a Hisssssss sound in the other caused by an ear infection. It's taken a major impact on my mental health over the years and completely ruined my life.

Been dealing with tinnitus since I was around 10-12 years old. Now 64 and it's always ringing while I'm awake! It's a very high pitched sound that I can hear above anything else that's making noise around me! I was diagnosed with TMJ in my early teen years, but don't notice a volume change when moving my jaw. For over 30 years I used to use white noise at night (ocean waves) to help me sleep, and recently switched to brown noise, and like it. I don't have problems sleeping with or without the noise, but prefer to have it. I've never been treated for tinnitus, but think mine may be primary based on the fact that it's always there, in both ears/in my head. Most of the time it doesn't bother me if I am focused on something else. I should also mention I get chronic headaches from the TMJ. And have had hearing test that showed some minor hearing loss.

I'm not certain how much can be done to help with my tinnitus. I served in the Army and deployed during the first Gulf War. I have many medical issues related to Gulf War Syndrome. As part of the symptoms grouped under GWS, I have a chronic, constant headache that ebbs and flows throughout the day without ever going away. The headache has not been treatable with medications to date. My tinnitus does get worse as the headache increases. The ringing will improve as the headache drops, although it also never goes away. To top it off, during my deployment, I received a TBI. Both the headache and tinnitus were present before I started taking any medications. Doctors have not been able to tell me which causes my headache, or the tinnitus; the GWS, or the TBI. I know that leaning over the side of the bed to pick something off the floor makes both the headache and tinnitus worse. It feels like "pressure" in my head when my head is lower than the rest of my body. There are also times when the tinnitus will more than double in volume out of the blue and last 30 seconds to a minute before returning to the previous level, but I am not able to influence it other than the already mentioned head below body position. I have been verified to have mild hearing loss going back to the 1990s, when I was on active duty. The hearing loss does not require hearing aids, and the VA has yet to address the tinnitus.

If I had to guess, I would say I have primary tinnitus, which may be compounded with a tie to GWS or the TBI or both.

Any thoughts?

I have hearing loss in my left ear + my both ears are ringing all the time. However, one night I felt also pulsatile tinnitus. I had dizziness like being on the boat and at the same time my tinnitus was pulsatile. My jaw is tensed but at the same time I do not have a jaw problem according to a specialist. What I have also learned that my tinnitus can also be somatic. I have serious neck problems. What if one's tinnitus has these three types? What can I do to alleviate this horrible situation of now 6 weeks? It is really driving me crazy, even though I am trying to remain as calm as I can to help the situation! I am not from America. Nobody seems not to be able to help me. I have only been recommended sound theraphy.
