  I COULD be at stage one; Potentially, ANYONE could be at stage one. As for walking into a room and forgetting what I came there, I’ve had dementia since childhood.

  My wife was diagnosed last year. It looks like she is between stage 4 and 5 possibly stage 5 I have to help her dress for she be putting close on backwards. She keeps ask the same thing over and over. Starting to not remembering names. Don’t want to take a bath. Doesn’t remember much from the previous day.she reads as a 6 years old. We been married 47 years and I am her full time caregiver. The worst part of this &nbsp;is not being the caregiver but seeing her declining. Just lost my mother last month for the same disease.

  I am working in care-homes as a fitness instructor teaching chair based exercises and wanted to find out more about the residents I am working with as most have dementia so found this really informative x it’s so sad to see. - thank you

  My husband hit the stage where he said out loud, &quot;I think I&apos;m losing my mind like my dad.&quot;<br>His dad died in 2021 with late stage dementia.<br>We have children, teens down to tots. Last year, he could do complex lego sets with our older son. This Summer, our middle girl turned 5 and got a simple flower Lego set. When they sat down to do it at the table, he stared at the instructions and pieces. He got up and walked outside, leaving our daughter confused and upset. <br>He&apos;s only 68.

  Because our society looks down at people with memory loss, at stage 2 or 3, I can&apos;t imagine the person would bring the memory loss up to family members! or others.

  Lived 6 years assisting Mom caring for my.Step Dad at home &nbsp;, he&apos;s now in the care of &nbsp;a hospital until a facility can be found – which should have been atleast 2 years ago. <br>Mom fought every attempt to put Step Dad in a facility and all of us , including &nbsp;Mom experienced the hardship of &nbsp;family members taking care of a alzhimers &nbsp;/dementia family member .<br><br>Never again &nbsp;, I had to put my life on hold for 6 years &nbsp;because my Mom wanted &nbsp;to be primary caregiver and &nbsp;refused to put my Step Dad in a care facility. <br><br>Now that Step Dad is in the hospital waiting to go into a facility ,the &nbsp;stress level in the house has vanished, &nbsp; and eveyone can &nbsp;now SLEEP &nbsp;at night .
