The Germans always believed the Western Allies would invade in the Pas de Calais. Normandy was farther away and much more difficult to approach. The Germans also expected the Allies to invade in good weather and that certainly wasn't the case over the English Channel. I appreciate this movie because it captures the anxieties of both sides and exposed the weaknesses. Ultimately the Germans failed because no one wanted to wake Hitler and tell him the invasion was on. And the Germans needed those panzer divisions. Only the 21st Panzer was in position but it was unsupported. Great movie.

This movie was too long to run during regular TV hours down here in the L.A. area.<br>They would run it, once in a great while during the 11:30pm tp 1:00am hours.<br>I had to sneak away or stay up real late to watch it as a kid living in my parents house.
