I love Iron Giant reactions, I swear no matter how many times I watch it I tear up. I’m glad you guys watched the version with the deleted dream scene; gives a lot of insight into how deadly he was/is.

As a kid, I was a big fan of the Don Bluth movies (Secret of NIMH, Land Before Time, An American Tale). I have always thought Brad Bird was kind of a next Gen Don Bluth.

59 year old retired cop and this makes me cry like a little girl every single time. Self-sacrifice and childlike innocent love always guts me straight away. Too sweet.

This film is known as a tearjerker, even (especially?) for adults, and I think it's brilliant, but it's all the more heartbreaking to me because Brad Bird made it after his sister was killed in an act of gun violence. His question in making this movie was, "what if a gun had a soul and didn't want to be a gun?"

In the early 2000's I worked at an Audio/Video store, remember those? We used to run "The Iron Giant" in the store, because it was kid friendly. After I left I added the movie to my DVD collection, and I still watch it from time to time. It is a good story, and it depict Government "agents" gone wild with "power", in a theatrical way. I enjoyed your reactions, they were very keen and insightful, even if the finale eluded you. Good job.
