  Absolutely legendary pull. <br><br>I was a huge supporter of Ryan for about a year before converting this Easter, his quiet and nice demeaner makes him seem like a sheep, but the division he sews into the flock makes him to be a wolf. Even the strawman he set up shows his true feelings here. He reads a verse that says &quot;not of your own doing&quot; and claims that means &quot;do not do anything&quot;<br><br>His unique brand of Christianity based on his private interpretation is absent from history until barely the reformation, but even the reformers would scoff.<br><br>He claims if someone is not 100% sure that they are saved and will always be saved regardless of their actions, or if they think baptism is necessary, or even repentance, or just asking God&apos;s forgiveness, then a person really isn&apos;t saved at all.<br><br>Because according to Ryan, if you have even faith the size of a mustard seed, that&apos;s actually not enough, you need perfect assurance

  That &quot;man in a box&quot; is an ordained Priest who can absolve your sins, so it&apos;s a lot more than what he makes it seem like it is.

  A lot of these evangelicals say it&apos;s about relationship, not religion. I would love to see if they honestly believe that their relationships they have with their spouses would survive the kind of treatment their theology would suggest of the relationship with Christ. Imagine thinking all you had to do was make a one-time choice to love your wife and then no matter what you do, your relationship would be healthy. As a married man I know I have to do things to maintain that relationship even though her yes to me was a gift and nothing that she owed me. But if I slept around treated her like a doormat, lied to her or ignored her, I&apos;m pretty sure my relationship would be in the toilet.<br><br>Edit: the grace we need to remain in Christ comes from God Himself. We can cooperate, but it requires grace. Without God we could not faithfully follow Him.

  I’m starting to realize that as a Lutheran, I’m much closer to Catholicism than I am to evangelicals when it comes to doctrine

  When you are sitting on your couch, you don&apos;t have faith that the Golden Gate Bridge isn&apos;t going to collapse, you have an intellectual knowledge that it&apos;s not going to collapse, just as the demons have knowledge that Jesus is Lord.<br>When you are driving across the bridge, that&apos;s when you have faith. Faith requires action.

  The scariest thing is believing you are 100% saved, to find out you&apos;ve been a prodigal son for years. I let pride blind me to just how much I let sin take root on my life. Thank God for his reaching out to me and rebuking me. Joining the Catholic church 2 months ago from being a Protestant has helped me maintain this seed that&apos;s been planted, it must be nourished through keeping our eyes on Christ so that His work in our lives will continue.
