  I'm not Catholic and have now had two instances in my life that doctors haven't been able to explain. I suddenly stopped having seizures at eight years old, and I also came out of a 17 hour coma after the doctors told my parents that they had no idea how I didn’t die, much less not suffer any brain damage. All the glory to God!

  My Orthodox priest taught us God is not limited he can perform miracles anywhere. Yet we strive for Theosis so we can be instrument for God to use. Like St Paisios and other Saint who carried the torch.

  The warning from Jesus, in Matthew 7, should be pretty clear..<br><br>There will be many people, who by faith, will perform miracles, cast out demons, and even prophesy, IN JESUS&apos; NAME, and yet, they will Not be known to the Lord, and will practice breaking His laws.<br><br>He calls out the Pharisees for this as well, as they twisted the scriptures to suit their needs, stepping around the law of God to fulfill their own purposes, and then justified it amongst themselves.<br><br>satan can, and as foretold, will, very much win over these supposed Christians, while they themselves think their usage of His law, how they want to view it, is permissible to the Lord, because He permits their fsith to be responded to with His power, yet they never had the personal knowledge of Jesus (the greek word Jesus uses when He says &quot;i never Knew you&quot; is the word used for 1st hand personal knowledge, not 3rd person knowledge).<br><br>In short, miracles themselves, as a biproduct of this warning, can be used to ascertain the Power of the Lord, but not the salvation of the person performing said miracle.

  All a genuine miracle proves is that a powerful spirit was at work doing things. &nbsp;I don&apos;t have a problem believing that pagans experienced genuine miracles because demons and the fallen sons of God have a good deal of power. &nbsp;<br><br>And it&apos;s not that Protestants have zero claims of the miraculous happenings within their own traditions. &nbsp;I find no reason to think God would discriminate in this matter, so I think both sides have good genuine claims. &nbsp;That zeros out the whole thing for me and returns us to pure reason and history.

  If a non-Christian decides to become Christian because they were impressed by miracles they looked into, whether it be Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox, I&apos;m still going to consider it a win.

  Miracles by themselves don’t tell you who to follow. “If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”<br>‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭3‬<br><br>Even false prophets have done signs and wonders. The question is, what teaching accompanies the miracles? Jesus and the apostles magnified Christ. These Marian apparitions and things tend to magnify Mary, not Christ.

  A few years back I really went down the rabbit hole of UFO &quot;close encounter&quot; stories. Much like Catholic miracles, true believers take the sheer abundance of them as proof of their particular worldview, and people who are unwilling to make that final step of accepting the worldview are just &quot;coping&quot;. And like Catholic miracles, the majority of the events are not very compelling, a minority are interesting, and a small handful are genuinely fascinating/difficult to explain away. Those small handful are the ones I really enjoyed studying, but I found that what they actually prove does not go nearly as far as what the true believers claimed. The true believers inject their worldview into the event and then say the event proves the worldview.

  I hold to miracles as valuable, powerful, and beautiful but NOT useful for interdenominational apologetics. They can be very beneficial for general or broad apologetics but, again, not for interdenominational apologetics. My christian background was from charismatics and pentecostals. Vetting all their claims would be exhausting and difficult. Vetting all Catholic and Orthodox claims would also be exhausting and difficult just solely based on how long they have been around. I have no issues with people believing in Jesus because of miracles (and I tend to trust Catholic miracles more than pentecostal and charismatic miracles due to Catholic vetting process). But I don’t ever plan to shift denominations theological beliefs based on miracles. I just don’t believe that is how miracles should be used.

  Miracles aren&apos;t Pro-Protestant or Pro-Catholic or Pro-Orthodox because were they occurred necessarily. <br>If all 3 ask Jesus to heal a broken arm and it takes, then that vindicates Jesus&apos;s capacity to heal (not their particular churches). However the nature of the miracle will vindicate aspects of the miracle. If Marian apparitions are legit, then that crushes soul sleep or the idea that the saints don&apos;t know about us (which does only impact at least some Protestant groups).
