UPSC syllabus looked at me, I looked at it… we both silently agreed we’re not meant for each other 😂

"UPSC is overhyped", proceeds to hype UPSC at the end.

99% of the problems go away when you stop comparing and just be yourself.

I'm 25 now. I left the preparation after 2 yrs of not clearing even prelims despite all the hardwork. I have moved on from the UPSC dream. I'm happy now tbh.

I have so much to write but I will try to keep it short. I am one of those many in India who went behind the UPSC wild goose. I left a super good tech job to prepare for the exam in the hope and dream of becoming a diplomat. My only focus was the IFS. But the system is designed to reject and not select (you need to think deeply about this). After almost 4 years of full time and passive preparation, I bit the bullet and decided to end my preparation. On hindsight I realized that the system does not value my time, the system does not want me, and more importantly it is my lack of self worth and self esteem that was pulling me back into this unforgiving cycle year after year. I gained this clarity at the end of it and moved on to do a PhD at IISc, to focus on my core skill sets - science, engineering, and writing and leverage it to both contribute to my personal nurturing and for humanity (I say humanity here and not country as a very conscious choice). The PhD experience felt like a much more "respectful" use of my time. It took me my entire 20s to reset the damage, the literal plunder, that UPSC did to me. Now, I still live my dream as a diplomat, by being an ambassador of science in the chip lab of the world bridging biology with engineering and medicine. Putting this out here incase people find it useful.

Nowadays , SSC and Bank exams are becoming new UPSC . because of too many repeaters  , decreasing vacancy .

My father insisted me to go for UPSC. But I know my limits and strengths. So, I rejected it after thinking about it from all directions. <br>Now happily doing what I like and enjoying life. ❤️
