  I’ve personally experienced this in multiple online group chats, and it was honestly horrible. People repeatedly asked me about my caste. When I said I don’t believe in the caste system and didn’t want to identify myself through a caste, they assumed I was “lower caste” and ashamed to admit it. After that, everyone started discriminating against and insulting me based on an assumption they made simply because I wouldn’t tell them my caste.<br><br>And this isn’t just about what happened to me. If people can treat someone this badly merely because of not believing in caste system, imagine what people who actually belong to historically marginalized castes have to face every day, both online and offline.<br><br>Casteism doesn’t become less harmful just because it happens behind a screen. <br><br>Caste should never be treated as a measure of someone’s worth, and nobody should have to disclose their caste just to be treated with basic human respect.
