I've been reading the Bible straight through over and over again. That's the best book to read first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

My daughter has cut us off over our conservative political beliefs. Mourning a child who is still living is a painful stressor.

I almost feel guilty NOT being super stressed and on high alert. Isnt that crazy? It feels abnormal to slow down! But, as I get older, my body is forcing the issue. I get exhausted easily if I don’t slow down.
Before I ever saw this video, I made a list of things that stressed me out. Over shopping and overspending is one of them! So back in 2020 I started a minimalist journey. I’m not perfect at it, but I realize just how much that reduces my stress to reduce the inventory in my home. Sometimes I still get caught up in shopping, especially thrift shopping.

But, then I realize how good and fun it is to get rid of things. It helps to stay out of stores and away from online shopping.

It’s also stressful to have no money in the bank that comes from shopping for things I don’t need!

Then there was feeling like my house had to be super clean with nothing piling up and no dust bunnies. Well, that right there can keep you on a rat wheel every day! I’m becoming one of those old people that doesn’t like to clean because it stresses me out 😂

Then there’s the insistence that I lose weight and getting in shape and look like these older people that are really buff. I had to ask myself why? It was out of fear! Fear of disease and injury.
The problem was, I was exercising so much that I never fully recovered. I was constantly exhausted and could barely do my job. Not to mention feeling very unhappy.

Social media does not help. We do the comparison game, don’t we? If they’re living better, what am I doing wrong?
So I have to stay off there too.

Someone mentioned Bible reading and time alone with God. That will definitely lower ones stress.

But, this is a good start, Lilly!! ❤

This video is meeeee! I’m eating very low carb for two years now and recently found that eating more butter on top of mainly meats is further taking me from good to great! My skin even my scalp is still improving and my health (although a nurse coworker badgered me on the one stick of butter I’ve committed to for a month and feeling even better and further knowledge of more good health) my recent developments —good peaceful sleep and kicked out the CPAP—FINALLY! Completely regular! Skin glowing! I don’t even take a lunch to work! When I get at from work I’m still not raging hungry… but I eating a small meal and IT tastes great… boring but GREAT! If I drop dead of a heart attack at least I’ll do it completely feeling great and slept and completely normal❤

Thank you Lily..for all your videos. I had a heart attack 2 years ago basically from stress. At night I stay away from tv and social media. I found coloring in coloring books geared for adults has relieved a lot of stress for me. I sit at my dining room table and color for a few hours listening to my favorite music. Then I go to bed and read for up to an hour. I sleep much better now.

My cortisol level was 27 last year, I’m not going for another test because that is too stressful

I mean, you never really know if these doctors are actually manipulating the tests or not. They are told to sell you pills like they’re dealers or something.

being physically at rest while your mind is still working overtime is so relatable. and “my work isn’t finished, but i’m finished for today” is such a good reminder. i think so many of us are used to treating every unfinished thing like it needs our attention right now. loved this perspective and the idea of giving your brain and body a little more permission to slow down.
