Hello BTG, thx a lot again as usual, you took the frustration and stress out of the most important thing in solar tech. I'm sure many companies hate you for it, but many more love you for it.

I have done this. I currently have 4 batteries on my back porch. They are running just great.

Thanks UT for your videos regarding the EG4 systems. I have a similar set up with FB18, GB and two batteries. Adding a third battery today. You covered everything necessary and confirmed all my conclusions for battery addition. So far all works well. My only ongoing, unexplained issue is a 7% amp draw increase on inverter/bat vs grid noted at appliances. But that is something comletely different.
Thanks again. Mike

I am surprised that you or the "Pros" didn't install the cement board behind the inverter and batteries. I thought that was code or at least a strong recommendation by Signature Solar.

    Informative, thank you.

My two cents: Additional ground terminal is redundant, run your ground wire to the back left corner and land it on one of the two locations there... I used the post and nut on the conduit box.

I know the best thing you could do is use what we use in snow country, to add some kind of own Corning to your home to save on you air conditioning!

I think you should feed the inverter from the center battery instead of the end. As it is set up now you have two batteries in series connected to the inverter via one cable. Alternatively you could add an extra cable between battery 1 and 2 like I did in my system to handle the current safely. There will be a bit of a voltage drop but it seems to work fine for me.

Please refer to NEC 200.6 and 300.4 (g) 👍 oh and I forgot, you can't use self tapping screws to secure a ground bar either, they must be machine thread. This install is not up to electrical code and would fail inspection by a competent inspector. It will however work just fine and is not unsafe.

Enjoyed your video. Question, why the #6 gage ground wire? How did you choose that gage? Would #10 or #8 gage work?

Great video! I’m also adding a third battery, but I don’t see the Battery Parameters option in the EG4 app like you do. That’s odd, since I have the exact same components as you 🤔
