the true value of the pro monitor is you get a fairly neutral sounding experience with a high liquidity value in market. cuz there are many pro user or prosumer are using them
also as the previous owner of the A4v the sounding experience is quite pleasant and dynamic in a small room.

I'm using your voice RN to see how my cheap speakers are doing with position and lol. Amp settings. Oh man. BBE maxed. Sibilant AIWA. 😂 imaging. Almost.

You sound American enough to want to try kali audio IN-5/8 series. 🙈 Probably narrow spot like most monitors, but the volume is there, and the concentric drivers are much cleaner. Also more transparent in frequency response.
they're not that beautiful, but they cost way less and perform way better. And if you try with their sub you have to hold on to the ground. All for less than 2k.

1:40 Andrew,m that's a good thing! You know what won't be working in 20 years time? Yeah all the software that makes smart speakers work! You pay for that today, you do not get to change that in the future, It's like old smart TVs, you might still have one fully functioning on your home, except you can't watch Netflix, you can't do shit with it, because the apps aren't supported anymore. So yes, I'd very much rather have a plain dumb active speaker then a "smart" one that won't be working in 10 years.

BTW, I've been using teh same pair of genelec 8130As since around 2009, still going strong, have had exactly ZERO issues with them.

You can get an extremely good DAC with remote control that can take your TV's TOSLINK Input, and you computer's USB at the same time, while outputting fully balanced, volume controlled line outputs and including a nice Headphone AMP for a FRACTION of the difference in price between a good studio monitor and Smart Hi-Fi speakers, in the Topping DX1-II, and you also get to have Parametric EQ. And in fact, as you said yourself, there's great studo monitor for much less than this one, like the JBLs

I do want to add that I'm making this comment because even though your video is clearly a Review of the Adam A7V, from the perspective of an audiophile, you chose to title it as a comparison between Studio monitors in general, and Hi-Fi speakers in general, and I think that misrepresents actually both sides of the argument. Becausue there's also inexpensive but great sounding Hi-Fi speakers that have plenty of connectivity for cheap, like the Edifier MR5s for example, although marketed as studio monitors, are clearly jut multimedia speakers but they do sound very good and can totally sound amazing if calibrated, ginven that they do have a very solid foundation to sit on as a 3-Way, properly integrated set of drivers in a speaker cabinet.

somehow youtube doesn't know what my bank account looks like or what my actual interests are but here it is suggesting me a video about 1800$ worth of speakers

I sell those speakers (A7V) and the amps inside are to weak! The A7X has much bigger amps in it, it can go so much louder. They never stress

I think the A77H would have been the better choice for this review. It has the ability to handle a larger room, which the A7V is not designed to do. I have T7Vs myself, and in the nearfield they're great. My living room still has towers though.

I agree and simplify the video
a pair of decent monitors is quite possibly the best solution for nearfield
the bigger the space gets the more you should try live listening to alternatives and adding subs
in most cases the last point is not always possible and we are stuck with YT and forums, so good luck

The best monitors are the best of Hifi.... Conventional mainstream hifi doesn't even hold a candle to what has been achieved in pro audio.....

In my opinion, hi-fi doesn’t truly get better than Alcons Audio. I just came back from Southwest Audio Fest and there were systems represented there that topped out at over $1mil.

Alcons had a showing on the second floor for both 2 channel and theater. They were easily the best in every category you can think of. Maybe except for aesthetics… though you can custom order them in any RAL color.
