  I&apos;ve seen other tour guides for Shetland, but none of them have focused on the local life and crafts like you have. You&apos;re a must-see every week. Cheers from Arkansas, USA.

  OK, so the name Lerwick is derived from the nordic word for clay or mud. The Swedish word for CLAY is LERA. Incidentally &quot;LERVIK&quot; in Swedish would translate &quot;CLAY-BAY&quot;. Have a nice day in the Clay-bay.

  What is not publicised enough is the textile museum is actually where Arthur Anderson was born in 1792. He was the founder of P&amp;O, one of the largest shipping companies in the world.

  Being a librarian when I was in Lerwick in 2022 June I visited their excellent library, which also <br>services rural areas with bookmobiles. I found their staff very friendly and helpful, especially after I identified myself as a fellow librarian because they are of course my comrades.

  Thanks for haveing a look at Lerwick. My family have lived there for centuries and it is my cousin who part owns the Lerwick Distilery. I have been visiting Lerwick since 1966 and spent all the school summer holidays there staying at our Grannie and Grandads house on Goodlad Cres. My best friend was James Bulter, his Mum, Rohda Bulter is a well known Shetland poet. Sadly, all interned at the Knab now. Take care

  I can’t imagine why anybody would go on a cruise. I wouldn’t sleep in Sawney Bean’s cave, but I would certainly sleep on the beautiful castle island. I love the lack of crowds in the places where you visit, the old stone buildings, the lochs, the paths to remote places, the kindness of friendly country people, the silence of no motors.

  I&apos;m Norwegian and visited Shetland and Lerwick a few years back and I found it fantastic. &nbsp;Alsao a huge fan of the TV series!
