  Having hiked all over the world, I noticed that Japanese mountain hikes are harder than most other places. Apart from the heat and humidity, most mountains paths consists of loose gravel from volcanic activity. Grip is poor, which makes it much harder and difficult to walk in steep terrain.

  Japan has a lot of warm water ocean currents aimed at it, so in summer their effect is multiplied.

  I did 2, 6 month &quot;vacations&quot; on Okinawa from May to November both times and the humidity was ridiculous! I &nbsp;felt like I was in a perpetual sauna. I absolutely loved being there, but could do without all the humidity.

  Watching this as I’m in Yokosuka. It’s VERY humid and hot right now. I’m here for work and pregnant. It won’t keep me from exploring in my time off. Thanks for the tips.😅

  I moved to the Philippines a few years ago. The temp read on the mercury is escalated because of the humidity. Usually a 36c on the mercury coupled with 80%relative humidity can feel like 45c.<br>- As a westerner, for the first few years here, I suffered heat exhaustion three times and each time was worse than the previous.<br>If you f*ck around with the heat in Asian countries then you will quickly find out that the heat f*cks around even more.

  I lived in an American city that is quite similar in humid heat to much of Japan. Baton Rouge. You can take a shower, dry off and dress, &nbsp;go to work, and feel like you are soaked with sweat within a couple of minutes of being outside. It’s almost like you never showered or dried off. ^^;;

  A lot of this sounds similar to the part of the US I live in(South Carolina). I wish people used parasols more often. People use them for rain but not sun and I think it helps so much!

  Definitely experienced this! I went on a bike tour in Kyoto and by the end I was quite literally melting away
