  Drug addiction for chronic pain is a hard thing. &nbsp;I had 7 years and 6 surgeries and know the drill. &nbsp;Thank God I’m clean for 18 months. &nbsp;RIP TP.

  I saw Mike Campbell open for The Who a few years ago, halfway through his set he let it go quiet and he started talking about Tom while nearly crying. It was Tom’s birthday, so we all sang him happy birthday.<br><br>Five years later and just talking about him Mike was struggling not to cry, but it showed through his voice until he started to play Tom Petty songs. It’s the closest I’ll get, Mike’s voice is nearly identical to Tom’s. Mike Campbell plays the guitar fantastically, he hardly moves and yet he makes it scream. <br><br>I didn’t even know he was opening for The Who, I nearly lost my shit when he walked out.

  So happy to have seen Tom twice in my life. &nbsp;I’ve loved him since my high school days (I’m now 68) and will continue loving his music till my dying day. &nbsp;RIP sweet dear Tom. &nbsp;Thanks so much for all the wonderful music and memories🙏🏼❤️🎸🎤🎼💋

  My Daughter, Wife, and I saw Tom Petty in Concert in Bakersfield on August 22, 1999 and Wow, what a great memorable performance.

  The first Heartbreakers Album I bought was &quot;damn the torpedoes&quot; (released 1979) back in 1980, when I was 17 years old.<br>I totally fell in love with Refugee and Here comes my girl and became an instant fan! I loved Tom Petty because he felt &quot;pure&quot; to me. An honest, amazing and gifted musician that carried me through the decades of my life.<br>I saw him life in cologne, germany during his 2012 tour and when he played &quot;here comes my girl&quot; and &nbsp;got some tears in my eyes. Great concert, great musician and a great human beeing!
