Shooting White Christmas in Vistavision and Technicolor was killer. Every time I watch it I marvel over the look. <br>Thanks for the video, really well done.

Wow! Some people in the comments section really, really hate digital cameras for some reason. You can make bland-looking films with IMAX cameras, and colourful films with digital cameras. It is all production design and cinematography. What's in front of the camera is more important than what the camera is or who is behind the camera. If I remember correctly, The Great Gatsby (2013) was shot entirely on 3D digital rigs, and it looks drop-dead gorgeous. If a movie doesn't look good, don't blame the machines and tools!

That was so interesting. Film is hard and expensive, but absolutely gorgeous. If it were easy and cheap, we would all be doing it.

Now they just need to figure out a way to revive Technicolor. Nothing on film looks as beautiful as that.

Absolutely beautiful format. Hoping it gets some the attention IMAX has been getting as of late :) Awesome video!

While not vistavision 70mm imax cameras also had a similar problem of being too loud so directors typically only used them for no dialog shots if they did used the camera. But then Nolan came along and shot the Odyssey entirely using 70 mm but he figured out how to work around the sound problem with the 70MM imax cameras. Maybe his solution could be translated visitavision camera.

Those VistaVision folk were clever follk. By just turning the film horizontally and you can increase the quality. Impressive video, thanks.
