I think the picture of the rusting stain, look closer and you can see the sky thru the bridge. I think that is a CLEAR WARNING.

As q Brazilian I can say that you did very well in the pronunciation, for a bloke from south London that is.

Imagine trying to get attention, so the bridge can be fixed and it failing.... That is nightmare fuel right there.

8:20 it's not just that rust has very little strength (even when it's not getting washed out) and the reinforcement stops doing its job, it's also that rust has a significantly larger volume than the steel (4 to 6 times), so as the steel rusts it will expand which will crack and spall the concrete, further weakening the structure by opening up joints and directly destroying the concrete's integrity (which usually exposes more reinforcement to the elements, making the process self-propagating).

On google maps you can "cross" the bridge in street view in October/November 2024, and you can see rebar visible in large potholes in the deck. There were also plants growing on the edges of the bridge deck.

A small editorial note. If you're struggling with the pronunciation of certain place names etc, (And you did a pretty good job for someone who doesn't speak the language)
Put in a small caption within the graphic of the place you're trying to pronounce, just in case you really do butcher it. Just a thought.

Reminds me of the line, "Some of you may die, but that's a chance I'm willing to take." Please value each other more.❤

The recent earthquake in Kumamoto had a fault slip and subside right under a tollway bridge pier, and there is drive recorder footage of the expansion joint failing and the asphalt chunks tilting up - the truck recording it scraped the top as it slammed on its brakes! Luckily the recently added steel “tabs” added underneath to catch the wayward bridge worked well enough for them to set the span back on the abutment and patch it up for later restoration.

Respect for the council man trying to get action before the event.

You know how they determine load limits on the bridges , don't you?

They drive bigger and bigger trucks till it breaks, then they weigh the last truck and rebuild the bridge.
