  This gives me hope that I can change the railing on my deck by myself. What I've learned is a hard lesson in patience while working on my home. The wiring is a mess, the deck was installed improperly and will have to be torn down, the flooring is wrong, and obviously, nothing is square.  Upgrading has been a challenge. Even so, I'm feeling accomplished. To your point, I prefer to know a little about everything so I can fix things on my own. If I become a pro at any of this I definitely want to use what I've learned to help others.

  Probably should have put rubber gromets in the post to protect the cables from being damaged

  My mom wants to add more concrete to our porch to make sort of a social area. I think decking would be better. Glad I came across your videos, thank you.

  These videos are amazing. I'm still doubting I could pull off a deck project like this. Only problem is mine would be 14' above the ground.

  Wow the way he explains everything in details makes it sound really easy. To the point that am going to use does exact railing in my deck. Keep up the good work.   Your deck looks quite sophisticated and beautiful too.  I never  dreamed that light treatment was available; I love it.  You should continue with new projects because you keep buying houses and doing them over and doing them better each time.  And who knows, Ryan may buy an old house and you will be upgrading it with him and be the 'voice of experience.  Here's wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Joyous Safe New Year.  See you here soon

  The railing looks awesome.  Great job installing it.  This sort of thing would take me 2 weeks.  Lack of confidence means I’m spending time measuring and re-measuring and re-measuring.  Also forgetting the footer cap and having to disassemble several times.  😂   I’ve not installed aluminum railing before.  I’m looking to go this route for a deck on my house.  I will need to get this brand of railing if available in Canada.

  Great video and beautiful deck and railing. I had an idea pop into my head. Tape the bottom post covers halfway down the post so you can screw the post down when ready and cover it up. Also try a 4 foot level for plumb reading. Torpedo may show an outage, but longer level may have shown a 1/16th outage which "looks good from my house" and let it be. Thanks for video!
