  I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy on 7/18/25 and I didn’t feel pain after the surgery.  The surgery was the best option for me due to heavy periods and fibroids.  I am 44 and of Chinese decent.  It’s almost a month since the surgery and I am feeling my best.  I have my life back.

  Whats concerning is that as GROWN women, we are “afraid” to speak up for the fear of loosing a position, job or opportunity because of an issue we literally cannot help! We need stronger policies, sick days for our cycles and more holistic doctors where insurance is an option because the health industry is all too happy to take our uterus and profit from it!

  Had my hysterectomy 2 years ago this month. 46 no children but I did what was best for me ❤

  Lord, Horible periods, swollen stomach, back pains, migrains, get sick before my periods, insomnia... ... this is a big deal because MENTAL HEALTH DOES NOT FACTOR health conditions and they prescribe medications that just eff shhhh up even more!! BRIDGE THESE GAPS!!

  I dealt with fibroids for years! I was so used to the monthly catastrophe, that I didn’t even know what a normal period was anymore. When I ruined a light colored leather chair within 30 minutes of changing my tampon, I knew I couldn’t do this anymore. <br><br>We need to normalize discussing women’s health more.

  I had a hysterectomy in 2015. My uterus was the size of a 5 months pregnant uterus thanks to fibroids. My mom and my sister both had hysterectomies in their late 30s as well. Black, white, brown, young and old.....we all suffer horribly. Thanks for talking about this so openly.
