The wow & flutter did settle down to just under 0.15% WRMS, exactly as they claimed, and you'd be hard pressed to find a vintage boombox at or below its price which can do much better than that, so I think it's perfectly acceptable. I do wish they had included DNR (Dynamic Noise Reduction), though, and of course a radio tuner -- even just FM would've been better than nothing.

I had an Philis boombox in the 80s and it had electric pushbuttons and a AM,FM and SW radio plus fast rewind and counter.

I purchased an Ion Deluxe boom box from Amazon a few years back here in the states for about $80 US. To all appearances its identical to an 80's boom box in looks, functionality and sound. They make a 28watt model that now goes for $70 and a 60watt model that goes for $130 and has a few more bells and whistles. They have am and Fm radio, cassette, Bluetooth, USB and a 4 in 1 card reader. Sound is definitely not = to this one but did a nice job keeping it retro, had it for about 4 years now and love it.

Looks great!! Slow eject open time - that old school measure of proper quality :). This looks like a T.E. product - I like it tho - wish it had a radio and sampling/slowdown playback like the OB-4.

I often wonder if you can find a better quality belt than the ones they fit if it would make much differance .

I just received my We Are Rewind boombox, and I am absolutely BLOWN away by how good it is. The bass response, quality of the sound, volume, and overall analog warmth were spot on. I love the size, the way it feels, and of course, the sound. I was a little concerned about the price vs. value, but I can say at this point , it's the best purchase I've made since buying a pair of Apple XDR displays with the nano texture. It would have been cool if it had AM/FM, but that's easily accessible via Bluetooth. It a boutique piece overall and worth every penny.

I watched your review using headphones. Judging by the sound, it’s impressive. It sounds very similar to my Bose SoundTouch 30. If that’s the case, this is a solid piece of equipment, and the design is definitely better. It’s a pity you didn’t give an example of what it could be compared to in terms of sound quality. Thanks.

This thing would have been the bomb in those days.

It's the metal body that makes it heavy, not the mechanism, and no radio either. I give it a thumbs up for the amplifier.

alle meine Kassetten haben geleiert. Auch Markenkassetten von BASF und Sony. Auf einem anderen Gerät laufen diese einwandfrei. Und Bluetooth macht starke Nebengeräusche.

Not sure I'm understanding the criticism towards the wow and flutter. They stated 0.15 and it settled down around that, and at times lower. You won't find many vintage boomboxes that will hit that, and the ones that did cost way over £1000 with inflation today.
