Nick, years ago in HS I was the spot painter and detailer for a national chain. The body work was performed by Bondo artists and they would make similar repairs to what you found on this Alfa. They used slide hammers and wouldn't weld the holes. Grind the metal with 50 grit to get the Bondo to stick and smooth out their work. It was cheap and fast. Most customers would trade in their cars in as soon as they were painted. Nice to see that you instead fix all the underlying metal and give it a permanent fix. Some high build primer and blocking it out and sealing the repair and you will have a nicely prepped surface for new paint. It is fun to see one of your quickie projects to change things up. Thanks again.

Now I am 74 and living in the USA and started life in Peoria , IL. the home of Caterpillar where dad worked and retired from . In high school they offered what was then the Industrial Arts . Which was drafting , metal shop , wood shop and electronics . I took all 4 . Years after that u could choose one or 2 of the 4 to go further in learning . I learned much from those classes that helped throughout my life . Today most schools no longer offer these classes to much into computers and other such classes . I assume your teaching came from your father . The generation now does not want to perform physical effort or get dirty .

These types of videos are more relevant to my project, but I still love watching you build a beautiful custom out of what most would consider junk. I learn from them all.

The kink above the rear wheel is a common thing on that model . It is the result of a rear shunt. Any GTV that has been hit in the rear has that kink.

"I can't stop watching because it's so interesting to see how a professional works. One thing really interests me: how to make a rear inner wheel arch that needs to be matched to an original outer wheel arch panel."
