Great stories. My next door neighbour was a soldier in WW2, he told me that they were moving across Germany when they came across a house with a Russian soldier chasing a young German girl. She was only about 12 years old. One of the British soldiers shouted at the Russian, "Hey!! Stop!!". "Bah!" said the Russian soldier and carried on chasing the girl. The chase went around the house in circles, when the Russian soldier ran passed the British soldier pointed his gun at him pretended to pull the trigger. The Russian waved his hand dismissing the warning. Next time they went passed the British soldier shot the Russian soldier dead.

Love your stories; you tell them so vividly. Makes me think of my dear father (1930-2012) who could tell as lively about his childhood in Prague during wartime, his time when he fled to the west in 1947 and his life before, during and shortly after his 60+ years with the love of his life, my mother in Holland. Thanks Kevin, you're a true gem in this world ❤
