You should place the fruit with the stem end facing down to reduce the pressure on the fruits below, preventing them from bruising.

I just read several comments. I'm so sorry people are critical and rude when is all you are doing to DO IS help people prevent waste. How would they like it if they were treated so poorly.. I enjoyed your video. I;m disabled and at 77, I don't want to throw away food or go to the store too often. I store everything in Mason Jars and my produce lasts 4-6 weecks, even my strawberries. Bananas just in the fridge, but I like your idea of the Salt water THANK YOU.for taking the time to share.

Just an FYI, if you need to ripen green bananas quickly, separate them and cut off as much of the stem as possible with out exposing the meat of the banana.

I've always used vinegar wash to sanitize all my fruits... i don't know of anyone who stores bananas in a cupboard or plastic bag.

I leave them out for s coupla days or so. As soon as the first black appears I put them in the fridge. The skin will keep going black but the bananas inside are still good. Can be many days before I eat them. In fact the sugars are well developed & the flavour full. If they go a bit over they’re good for smoothies or baking. Can peel & freeze them till ready to bake.
