  I just cancel everything and read a physical book. The peace of mind I get is worth it.

  I have nothing to cancel because I have continually refused to subscribe to anything beyond the usual utilities.

  Gym memberships are the original &quot;impossible to cancel&quot; service and the Federal Trade Commission actually brought charges against several gyms because of this.

  Pro tip: if youre having a hard time cancelling a subscription or gym membership, consider filing a charge-back through your credit card company. Tell them you dont consent to paying them and you want to block all further payments to them. This not only gets you your money back but also forces those companies to pay a fee. If they wanna play stupid games, they win stupid prizes. <br><br>If for whatever reason that doesnt work, or maybe its a different kind of card on file, tell your bank your card was lost/stolen and you need a new card. dont tell the company you have a subscription with your new card number.

  Ex Banker here. A large proportion of people I delt with had no idea where their money went. And it was extremely difficult to get them to think that saving just $20 per month was a good idea. They often felt that no matter how much they tried to save they would never get ahead. Quite sad really that they had lost all hope of achieving financial control.
