I like how you’re promoting this, don’t come to a country to spoil it.

Thailand is a great place to visit and live. I have been here over 10 years. People are so lovely. No aggression here. Please don't bring your problems to Thailand.

I feel like none of this advice applied to me. I live in NY, I'm frugal with money, the people I associate with and I don't have any dependents or close relatives. The scenarios and people described sounds like individuals who don't have any common sense or self control. I'll take that as a good sign that I'm making the right decision to go with this move

I just spent a month in Bancok Thailand back in September 2,024. I was there for surgery at Kamol Hospital, so i didn't do a lot of exploring the country. Though i did find it quite interesting in what little time i had to venture. AND i Found just the opposite efect with budgeting. The baht count being a Higher Number count than the USD made me feel like i was always spending Too much. So i was quite conservative with cash over there.

Lived in Thailand for a year, went Thaiboxing and studied half a year. Thailand is great, loved it, cuisine maybe the best or top 3 of the world. But living there and always being a second class citizen/farang and fair game to be scammed, no thanks. I choose South America, same climate, also a fun and open culture, women are even prettier and you can actually fully own all your property and land, even as a non-citizen. The cuisine is less nice but I can make laab, padt krapaow, tom kha gai or red curry myself ;)

Thailand is perfect for (long) holidays though!

My humble opinion.
