The years Mick Taylor was in the band was in my opinion the best years for the stones. I do wonder why the never gave Taylor any credit.? Greed? Ego?

I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard Tumbling Dice. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever heard in my life. Even today.

with Mick Taylor the Stones reached a level of music quality and taste they had never been able to get back to since he left. <br>the Stones undervalued him and didn't credit him like they should have beacuse as a musician he was levels above them all and they knew it.

The Brian Jones years were one version of the band. And they were fine in many ways. But when they added Micky T, they became quite another band. Still the Stones, but with a much bigger, tougher sonic bite. I can't imagine them getting there with Brian, as much as he'd been central to the earlier Stones sound. After Taylor left, with Ron Wood, they kind of settled into this Stones steady state, still managing to come up with some gems like Miss You and Start Me Up. But they never quite achieved the same pinnacles of fabulosity as when Taylor was in the band.
