So fun fact about what you said at 27:04 there's a reason for that. The characters in the campaign are COMPLETELY unchanged from the game's day 1 release. This means that if you play the campaign to get a hold of a character's general kit, you'll be playing a 10 year old outdaded version of their moveset. This can lead to some inconsistencies where a player then tries out the same character in multiplayer only to find out that they function completely differently

Stefán Karl Stefánson (beloved actor who played Robbie Rotten on Lazytown) somehow voiced as a Viking soldier. A worthy role for Valhalla.

For Honor is what a live service game should be, it gets new content constantly but stays relatively the same so you can come back occasionally and still play the same game.

I think the most astonishing thing about this For Honor, aside from the fact that it's still alive, is that a game with such a unique and interesting combat system was created by Ubisoft; a company that infamously doesn't like to leave it's comfort zone.

Nah man, this game outlived almost every live service that came around it.
This shit's immortal and we stand by it

I think it's a disservice not to mention the first For Honor Community Blackout and how it forced the devs to communicate with the players, arguably being the birth of Warrior's Den.

As someone who’s played since 2018, I think the biggest reason that the game hasn’t died is simply that the devs never left. They’ve stuck with the game through thick and thin and that gets people to stick. Thanks for the vid!

Played For Honor religiously when it dropped and then on and off again over the years. Got sucked right into the beta and somehow managed to stay through the P2P nightmare. I've been there when Wardens would one-shot each other and witnessed the mighty Shugoki brawl with invisible weapons. It was glorious and nerve wrecking at once with nothing really like it. Reading your enemy like a book and watching them panic was like distilled crack to me and my bro (Rest in Peace Atomblut, you were a monster in every game you touched)

The early minion kill animations were also incredible. Anyone reading this that thinks the game looks neat should absolutely look them up. There was so much love and creativity put into them, even if they were "inefficient".

What really broke the game was that with a lack of funding the latter half of the "release OP hero > nerf OP hero" cycle slowed down, so that most of the focus just goes into new strong heroes with little and slow after release balancing. So now most games are either the same few OP characters abusing whatever they can or absolute sweat fests with little in between.

Love the game dearly, might download it once again thanks to this video and I hope it gets a new, better part 2 some day. But I really can't recommend it without feeling bad. You should play it anyways, just to understand.

For Honor is one of those game that has a limited but very loyal fanbase that keeps it from justifying completely shutting it down, like SC2.

for honor is definitely unique enough to retain a fanbase, I just never thought it would've stuck around this long
