  Red Wings and Danner Bull Runs where my first go to boots for work. Now, I use Whites daily. I have 4 pairs of them. My Russell's and Nick's. will never see a day of work. And, the White's are really a good value and they hold up.

  It does kinda boil down to Redwing for most people. Especially if your job requires a lot of ASTM and ANSI certs. Getting Static Dissipative or Slip Resistant/Oily Wet isn’t something you’ll commonly see at the small house production builders. I adore my whites, JKs, and Nicks though. Need to get Frank’s soon.

  You are right about Franks! I couldn’t agree more. And that community continues to grow (making my wait times longer)  Gonna be a pair a year for a couple more years so I will be in great footwear shape till the end of the line. Thanks for the entertainment brother.

  The redwing super sole is why I left redwing after 20 loyal years. Two pairs fell apart years before the others had. Then redwing said they weren’t repairable. After months of research I ended up with a custom pair of Frank’s. I couldn’t believe the quality.

  I’ve got Nick’s, White’s and JK boots so Frank’s is next on my list. I wore a lot of both McRea and Belleville when I was in the army and I owned a pair of Matterhorn winter boots a little over 20 years ago. The Matterhorn boots killed my feet so I only wore them a couple of times. It’s not a knock on the quality of the boots, they were wonderfully made, but I was still learning about boots at the time and didn’t get them broken in properly which is my failure, not the boots. I also learned through wearing them that I really have no need of that kind of insulation in boots which leans into the “pick the right tool for the job” thing.

  I’ve worn Red wing logger style boots since I was 15 years old. ( I’m 60 now ). &nbsp;Once about 5 years ago I decided to try a pair of Carolina’s<br>They completely lost all resemblance of a work boot in about a month. Putting them on was like putting on a pair of well worn leather Indian moccasins. No structure to them at all.
