Nice. I wish more PC channels would do rapid prototyping of concepts to discuss the concepts they have. It's all there for the taking - case ideas, card cooler ideas, motherboard form factor ideas, mouse ideas, headphones, whatever you imagine...

0:45 holy shit man, congratulations! I started watching you wayyy farther into your weight loss journey than I thought and seeing this is impeccable. I am happy at all your progress for self improvement, no matter how far you've gone, congrats

Hey Jay, you will get better accuracy on the flip if you mill the outside corners and then use those corners you milled as the reference points for the second operation! the saw cut stock is pretty clean, but it will absolutely contribute to the issues you're seeing. 12 year machinist.

make sure you get a tenths (.0001") indicator to dial in that probe. you will need to adjust it when you install it into a collet. the stylus will not be accurate and have quite a-lot of runout until you do this.

Not sure how the programming works for your CNC, but if it works like a full size CNC, I’m assuming it would, when you flip a part, always pickup your offset on a place where you previously machined. Using the outside of a rough cut block is perfectly acceptable for the first operation. But if you want anything to line up and match the other side, you have to use a point in space that is known. To go along with that, it is good practice to index the part on edges that were machined in the previous operation. That way, you know everything is square and true to the machine. I know you are dealing with what you have for stock, but it is also a good idea to make the part out of a piece of material that is only slightly larger than the finished size of the part. By doing that, when you machine the outer profile, you now have a cleanly machined edge/corner to index off of, not to mention, a flat, machined surface to lay on the table or fixture. There are many more pointers that I could give you, but to explain 20+ years of knowledge about machining would take far more than one comment on a YT video! Keep plugging! You’re making good progress! From the sounds of it, it’s time to start a “wall of shame!” That’s where all the big, costly mistakes go. Your probe, being the first!😂

For a maintenance background kind of guy, you aren't being boring to me with your CNC build projects. Modifications and Problem Solving is fun to do in my line of work. 🙂
