Before the walls go up take a photo of every wall . Comes in real handy later on if you ever want to hang or mount anything to the wall. You’ll know where not to drill

I've never been so invested in another man's house before. I can't wait to see it finished!

Good work on fiber! You guys are moving fast!<br><br>Few things to keep in mind before it's too late.<br>1) Install a sub pannel in your garage for your house needs. Keep the outdoor pannel strictly for high loads. Such as car chargers. Why? You can install a bypass and a ATS for your solar/batteries. This way you can survive during a black out. Plus it gives you so much flexibility<br><br>2) I did not see any adequate air sealing. It's worth spending little extra to make sure you are not getting any bugs in your house and not losing conditioned air. With that look into a ERV system when you are doing hvac<br><br>3) Get the roof details right for fire prone area so that amber not going into your attic<br><br>3) Add smurf tubing to where utilities coming in so later on utility man doesnt have to make hole in your newly built home to run a wire.<br><br>4) Add metal conduit in your attic for solar and bring it out by the meter base<br><br>Doing any of this suck later on and costly. 🙂 Might worth taking a class on building better for fire safety and efficiency. It's lot cheaper to do that now than out fitting later

Hey man... don't cut the end off the fiber. Just pull it as is. If when you test it, if it doesn't work THEN you can cut the cable and re-terminate it and test again. You have to be careful with fiber but you don't need to be THAT careful.

As someone who has pulled a decent amount of fiber and other wires through conduit. Pull to that main junction box, go there and pull what you need to make it to the end at that box in a nice single cut back, then go to your end point and pull from there. Significantly less friction on the cable as you're only fighting the friction of one conduit at a time rather than two for the second half.

Instead of cutting the fiber you could try and unclip the LC fiber ends from their duplex clip. Just remember they need to be opposite on each end

Oh man, you're going to hate me for what I'm about to say.... You can actually break the LC connector in two to slim it down. Each individual strand is on its own LC connector, with a little bridge between the two. We do that a lot in Datacenter networking because we have to roll the fiber (flip transmit and receive ends) when the far end is reversed. That way you don't need to cut the ends off and re-terminate it. Which on that note, for the love of god that's a bad idea. <br><br>You can also get Bi-Directional (BiDi) fiber if you want to use a single strand of fiber instead of two.

As an infrastructure fiber installer, I would highly suggest running the fiber through a separate tube since fiber is delicate and makes future repairs or replacements easier. Plus, your existing “smurf tube” for the Cat6 cables is already crowded. Great work you got there!

Good choice to run fiber!

Dont cut the fiber. Run a pull string all the way through. Secure the fiber to the string periodically. That way your pull pressure on the pull string rather than full force on the fiber and it should pull the whole way.
