She made them so often that she never needed a written recipe, and somewhere along the way, the recipe was lost. I’ve been searching for it for decades.<br><br>Finding it again and being able to make these baps just as I remembered them was really quite special. I’m so happy to be able to keep this lovely old recipe alive and share it with you.<br><br>Funnily enough, although they are traditionally Scottish breakfast rolls, I don’t remember Mum ever serving them for breakfast. We always had them warm with homemade soup. 🙂<br><br>If you’re looking for the lard I used, I found mine at Woolworths. Coles also sells lard, although it wasn’t available at my local store.<br><br>I hope you enjoy these if you make them.<br><br>Warmly,<br>Lee

  You have such a lovely way about you. Thank you for sharing your recipe and method for making these lovely Baps. My mum used to make them but I didn&apos;t pay attention. They were always ready for us in the morning before school. I&apos;m going to try my hand at them and see if I can do them justice. Bless you dear, you make an old woman very happy. 💖

  I try every recipe you post, thanks so much for sharing these traditional recipes and keeping them alive. <br>I prove my bread my placing my bowel on a folded up electronic blanket on the lowest setting. Works fantastic.

  My mum was Scots and though she never made these I found and baked them. They really are delicious. Made them as &quot;padkos&quot; on a long trip. SA &nbsp;&quot;food for the road&quot; with ham and mustard etc...so good! &nbsp;Tx Lee ❤
