  You missed the connection when Jay was in the shopping TROLLEY ( shopping cart in the US), to the TROLLEY bus !!

  London now has many fully electric buses. Quite a lot has changed since Jay's video.

  omnibus basically means "everyone" - omnibuses were for everyone who could afford it to ride, rather than them being reserved for one or two people in a private hire situation like a hackney carriage (cab) or a private carriage.

  The video is six years old. The South of the river tram system now serves Wimbledon, Croydon, Beckenham, and New Addington. There are tentative proposals to extend the area covered.

  THIS answered my question as to how I ,nearly, got hit by a Tram. Once every eight weeks, I drive through the edge of Croydon, but the traffic lights prevent a collision. It was ON FOOT when I never realised Croydon had them. One minute, you are heading down a "typical" High Street, and suddenly, a tram is on top of you if you are not familiar with their presence.

  So the TL;DR of Ernest Marples is that he owned a road manufacturing company before becoming a minister, he then failed to sell his interests whilst he was in charge of closing down large portions of the railway network (going further than suggested in the Beeching Report, which was a report into the state of the railways which advocated closing lots of branch lines down), and in charge of building large sections of motorway all over the UK, contracts for which JUST HAPPENED to be awarded to his family&apos;s road building company, making him and his family millions of pounds.<br><br>Funny how that happens, isn&apos;t it?

  I liked the advert square that came up at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gOZ6smSvsE&amp;t=1458">24:18</a>. This was something that indicated that an advert was coming on commercial stations. Can say I&apos;ve seen one recently, so probably no longer required.

  At around 17.00 the music is &quot;We&apos;re all going on a summer holiday&quot; and then we see Cliff Richard - who sang that song in the film &quot;Summer Holiday&quot; - driving a London bus. Cliff is still going strong!

  They still have the horse trams today in the Isle of Man (that tiny island in the middle of the Irish Sea).

  At least two clips from this episode are from classic british cult comedies. The clip of the bus going off the cliff is from The Young Ones, and the clip of Noel Edmunds saying “straight in front of a tram” I believe is from Brass Eye? Both excellent comedy shows! And Jay’s comedic genius is on full throttle in this episode too i think lol.

  Crossrail was the project name for what is now the Elizabeth Line , running from Essex in the East to the west including Heathrow Airport . It was one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the world at the time
