  All the actors were fantastic in this. Even the ones that made you hate them. Clancy Brown did such a good job being a thug, smug cop beating everybody up that it's hard to reconcile that he is also the voice of Mr. Krabs on Spongebob Squarepants.

  😂 In the novel Red is a red headed Irishman. Hence the "maybe it's because I'm Irish" joke. Brooks was in prison for both world wars, the depression, refrigeration, portable radios, airplanes, cars everywhere, etc. What Red did is disclosed in the book. He took out a life insurance policy on his wife and cut the brakes in her car. She hit a Mom and baby. They all died. The song is by Mozart and DuPonte it's an opera called The Marriage of Figaro. It's about getting revenge on the master. 😂

  If you didn't notice, when Brooks left the camera was looking back. When Red left the camera was looking forward or out.

  This isn’t my take, I just heard someone else that realized this: when Red and Andy were talking about getting out, Res said “it’s a shitty pipe dream”.  Andy crawled thru a shitty pipe to realize his dream

  Think about 50 years ago. Apple was founded, chairman Mao died, the Concord jet flew, the VHS was created, the first space shuttle, the first ebola outbreak, and the movie Rocky. 50 years is a long damn time.

  The reason Red got out after the parole meeting was probably that he was straightforward, honest, he didn&apos;t say what he thought they wanted to hear. If they get the impression that you want to BS them, they might conclude that you may still lead a dishonest life.
