  The Sherpas who are the REAL mountain climbers are too often overlooked for their ability and the value they bring to the climb and the community. I think there needs to be a reclassification of what is considered to be a Summit on mountains like Everest, K2, etc.  if an expedition uses the skills of a Sherpa team, then they should be classified differently and the Sherpas should be listed on the certificates issued for the summit. Their knowledge, skill and expertise along with the incredible workload they handle are the only reason most people who climb any mountain in the Himalayan range  get anywhere near the top. It’s wrong for climbers to ignore the person who made it possible.

  Naar was no hero.. that word is retained for those who would willingly risk their own lives for a chance to save the lives of others. Naar proved himself unworthy of the title. I don’t know why anyone would choose to climb with such a self absorbed individual.

  Thanks for #2 about the Sherpa's who go up before the clients to set things up for them.,...I think many of us would love to help these low level Sherpas who support so many others.,...just us give the names of those involved in the stories you do, both those who are killed, or injured, but the regular "grunts" who make the least of all the climbing Sherpas. and an address to send them $ & gifts.,...we don't need to help the Sherpas who are paid well already, they are doing fine.

  The high mountain Sherpas who fix the ropes and carry all the necessary gear to do so should be treated with far more respect and higher earnings than they receive, especially when they lose their lives and their families are plunged back into near poverty. The Himalayan mountain climbing Westernn companies charge their clients thousands of  dollars, as well as the country of Nepal charging the Western climbers small fortunes for permits, etc. I feel the treatment of the Sherpas is disgraceful.

  These videos boggle my mind. Why would you want to do something so dangerous and painful. It makes sno sense to me. Near is an ass for not helping that man. I couldnt leave him. I would feel like God would say I sent you there for a person. What makes you think your life is more important than his.

  Sensationalised ai nonsense. Also name one Everest documentary where Sherpas are not heavily praised, same rhetoric everytime for the last 40 years — Sherpas are the best, Sherpas are forgotten, Sherpas are the real heroes, Sherpas don’t get any credit. Can’t be both can it. Not only do that get a shit ton of credit but they are paid for the pleasure.
