  in &apos;77 EVERYBODY in the theater cheered when the imperial destroyer passed overhead in the beginning. There was never such a shot of a ship before that one. It was truly mind blowing and a stand-out memory.

  To clarify: they are not clones. Storm Troopers are a military made out of conscripted and volunteer troops

  Hi Raine, Star Wars ‘ruined’ my life. I had a simple life of manual labor in my future, until I saw this film in 1977. When I came out of the theater I wanted to be an artist, a line of work frowned upon and discouraged by my culture. I pursued art in college and was often discouraged by even some of my classmates! I took a leap of faith. I dropped out of college and moved to Canada to study art. I worked odd jobs to pay the rent, trying to find work as an artist. Each Star Wars film that came out encouraged me to keep going. I even got to meet John Rosengrant and his wife in a sculpting convention. John worked on The Terminator films. He critiqued my sculptures and encouraged me to keep going. I am now a working illustrator and sculptor, with commissions I could only dream about years ago. All that I am right now, good and bad, because Star Wars: A New Hope made me dream.

  I went into Star Wars completely blind because I saw it the day it opened in 1977. And it was freaking awesome. For me, none of the other Star Wars movies have ever come close to that thrill of seeing the Imperial Cruiser first coming down from the top of the screen into view and slowly filling up nearly the entire screen. Or the chill of Darth Vader&apos;s very first entrance. Or the open-mouthed amazement when the Falcon made the first jump to light speed. The whole movie was full of things that no one had ever seen before. An incredible imaginative achievement.

  I saw this in the theater in 1977 when I was 4 1/2 years old. To say I was blown away is an understatement. I also met Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) at the first Star Wars convention. I ran up to him and said “YOU’RE C-3PO!!! He pressed his finger to his lips and said quietly “Shhh, don’t tell anyone!” And gave me a sly smile. So awesome.
