  One thing they did not say on that video, that when the Smoky mountains had a wildfire and wiped out people's homes, she gave each family $1,000 a month to help them until their houses could get rebuilt, but a lot of people didn't know about that because she didn't do it for the publicity,

  I&apos;m a French man, I&apos;ve never owned a Dolly Parton album but I&apos;ve enjoyed whatever music I&apos;d heard from her considering country music was never a thing in my country.<br>As a music lover, I&apos;ve always respected her and knew she had a great reputation for her kindness. Ever since she passed, I&apos;ve been crying on and off while going further into listening to her and finding out how much of a great human being she was.<br>I&apos;d go as far as saying that there never has been a better person as far as celebs go. What a loss for humanity.

  The last time I saw such a global out pouring of grief for the passing of a famous person was when Princess Diana passed away. Both had tremendous appeal across the globe and while Princess Diana certainly surpassed her in global fame, Dolly was so well known that she’s been the topic of conversation for days and has dominated all the social media feeds. Rest in peace Dolly! The world is a poorer place without you in it.

  Dolly used some of the royalties from Whitney Houston&apos;s version of &quot;I Will Always Love You&quot; and invested it in a black community in Tennessee. ❤

  My mom told a story about seeing Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers perform live. People threw flowers after their duet and a woman walked up to the stage to hand a bouquet to Kenny. He asked the crowd not to bring flowers because they&apos;d just get thrown away. Dolly stepped up and thanked the woman profusely for the bouquet and for everyone else who brought flowers she promised that she would never let such beautiful gifts go to waste. The next day, hundreds of flower arrangements were donated to local hospitals and Dolly said she &quot;wanted to share the beauty and help brighten up a few people&apos;s worst day.&quot; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PQsJrFulIw&amp;t=603">10:03</a> Dolly&apos;s husband, Carl, passed away last year.   My brother died the same day she did so that kind of overshadowed all the hype. But after a few days now it’s starting to sink in. Thanks for posting. She was a great person.

  Yes, Im African American here in the States and got the news in the evening. Phew! &nbsp;It was just SO HARD man like losing family had to take the rest of the day off. She was &nbsp;just SO &nbsp;special to EVERYONE black, white, LGBTQ. NO one else like her. Def a favorite Auntie.

  There&apos;s something that almost all the tributes to Dolly have missed, possibly because it just recently happened. Dolly donated several million $ to the local Childrens Hospital here in Knoxville, TN, enough to endow it in perpetuity. This hospital is a non-profit, with a philosophy that no child will be turned away, regardless of their parents&apos; ability to pay. They just this year changed the name from Fort Sanders/East TN Childrens Hospital to THE DOLLY PARTON CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.

  Thank you for posting this video. It just scratches the surface of all of her good work. Her death was an absolute shock. I&apos;ve cried and cried for days along with the rest of the world. God bless Dolly. She was the best of us.

  “That’s a lot of responsibility for a nine-year-old” in that generation it happened a lot. My mom did the same thing. She was at that age 9 10 11 …and was taking care of her younger siblings as well.
