  I'd say it's probably a case of convergent evolution. A lot of action games used Resident Evil as a base, and Onimusha/DMC were the first ones to utilize the next generation hardware to realize their vision. Vampire Hunter D is a great half step between the eras of games, pretty neat.

  I really wish Vampire Hunter D would get another video game. Mixing DMC combat with 3D metroidvania would work really well for a video game adaptation of D.

  Read the DMC Creators said it was a bug in a game Onimusha that inspired the gameplay. Stumbled upon this game recently. Love vibe, characters, music ... But the controls + obscured camera angles + the fact many enemies will ambush you the second you enter a room + constant respawns. Takes joy from the game. The fighting often isn't worth it. So you find it's often easier and faster just jump past the enemies. It's sad because I love everything else about the game.

  As the Dunpeal lovechild of the Big D himself, you can dodge. And quickdraw your long-ass blade.<br><br><br><br>I never had any problem playing it as a high school idiot. But I do remember being terrified of Carmilla. In hindsight, it was probably the seed that bloomed into my lush reluctance to playing horror games.

  I absolutely loved Vampire Hunter D, I didn&apos;t have a PlayStation growing up though and never knew there was a game based on it.

  It also goes to show you that sometimes, the same idea for game design, when done by a AAA Company will always get more recognition and sales than when a third party dev does it.

  have you heard of the 2004 PS2 Game called &quot;Blood Will Tell&quot; its based on the Anime/Manga Dororo, and if you dont know what Dororo is about, basically 48 demons all snacked on a newborn babys limbs and organs in some messed up ritual to bring prosperty to the land and secure a good harvest, somehow that baby survived and he wants his bodyparts back.

  Vampire Hunter D bloodlust was one of the only anime’s I could get into … I remember rewatching that movie over and over again &nbsp;it was so badass

  the vp system sounds very similar to Ulltrakill&apos;s blood mechanic, which is a game inspired by DMC to make the similarity even more frustrating
