Loved this impromptu hang and chatter! Matt is not only an amazing player, he’s one of the most knowledgeable blues historians on the planet!

Taj Mahal's first album was a great blues album. It came out about within a year of the Blues Breakers"Beano" album.

Good chat guys, but the sunburst Strat in Matt's hands highlights the major omission of Rory Gallagher, IMHO. 'Irish Tour '74' being an absolute classic of blues rock and his great talent.

Johnny Winter with Muddy Waters are the gold standard for blues! Also, AC/DC’s album Jailbreak is awesome. 👍

One of the best blues rock players I've ever seen is the late, great Kim Simmonds when he played in L.A. in '87. Absolutely outstanding. I got to meet him after the show. Cool dude. Now, I know Allman Bros are considered more southern rock, but Dicky Betts and Warren Haynes were amazing live. Some of the best playing I've ever heard. Frank Marino deserves some props. I've never seen him live in person but I've watched a lot of concert footage and I've owned all of his albums. Incredible. Brilliant.

Clapton Journeyman album still holds up well. I like some of August too. The Rig Doctor did a nice video on Clapton's 80s sound.
